Good news for the summer!

The sun is definitely shining on Vintry & Dowgate Wards Club this summer.

• First, and most importantly, we have learnt that The Court of Aldermen has expressed its in principle support for Alderman Alison Gowman to go forward to the Shrievalty in 2020 – it looks as if the Club will have another Lord Mayor!
• Secondly, Deputy Tom Hoffman received the MBE in the Birthday Honours
• Thirdly, the Parish Clerks will have their first female Master – Lynette Stone CBE
• Fourthly, Alderman Dr Sir Andrew Parmley will, by the time of the Civic Lunch, be installed as Master Vintner

So many congratulations to all of them

Just a quick reminder – applications for the Summer Party are due in next week (4 July).

Dates for your diary – the AGM will be on 18 September in Guildhall and the Civic Lunch will be on Monday, 5 November, in Vintners Hall, when we shall be delighted to welcome the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress.
