Civic Lunch 2023
Some 88 members and guests enjoyed a wonderful lunch of Braised beef short rib croquette, Pan roast Atlantic Cod and Dark chocolate fondant on 30th October in the splendid surroundings of Vintners Hall attended by the Rt Honourable the Lord Mayor and the Lady Mayoress. Other notable guests included Alderwoman and Sheriff Dame Susan Langley and her husband Mr Gary Langley, the Master Vintner Anthony Fairbanks, Master Tobacco Pipe Makers and Tobacco Blenders Elise Rasmussen, as well as our own Aldermen Alison Gowman and Dr. Sir Andrew Parmley, Common Councilman Deputy Henry Pollard who is also Master Investment Manager, Common Councilman Jaspreet Hodgson and Kanan Barot, newly installed as Master Management Consultants.
Our retiring Chairman Mary Wallis presided over the occasion and presented the Lord Mayor with a cheque for his charity. He in return presented Mary with a fountain pen in the same style as used by the King. He also presented David Crowley, our retiring Hon. Secretary, with a gift from the Club as well as a personal gift.
To those members who attended, the incoming Chairman Charlie Payne hopes you had an enjoyable time and to those unable to attend, he hopes to see you at future events in the coming year.
