Carol Service and Lunch at Coq d’Argent – Sunday 17 December

The John Lewis Christmas advert is now on our screens which means Christmas must be fast approaching, and so it should come as no surprise that I am writing to invite you to a Carol Service, the Clubs’ December event.  As usual this will take place at St James Garlickhythe, Garlick Hill, London EC4V 2AF on Sunday 17 December at 10.30am.  The service will be followed by a reception in the church and then, as it was so successful last year, lunch at Coq d’Argent – the restaurant on the rooftop of No 1 Poultry, opposite Mansion House Tube Station, just a 5 minute walk from the church.  The service and reception at St James Garlickhythe are free but I do hope that that you will also join us afterwards for the lunch.

The menu will be two courses starting with Roasted dry aged sirloin, Yorkshire pudding, roasted vegetables and a red wine sauce followed by Caramelised Apple Tarte Tatin with crème fraiche or vanilla ice cream.  The price including a half bottle of wine and service is £46.00 per person.  The restaurant is requesting an early response so I should be grateful if you would return your completed booking form, with any dietary requirements and payment (on this occasion) to me no later than Tuesday 28 November

This year we would once again like to offer you the opportunity to donate gifts when you join us for the Carol Service.  All the gifts will be collected by the Salvation Army and given to deserving children who might not otherwise get a Christmas present.  Please wrap your gift and attach a label, which can be detached at a later stage, with an indication of the nature of the present, what age child might appreciate it and whether it is intended for a boy or a girl or either.
