This is a visit to the recently opened Postal Museum which will start with a guided tour of the Mail Rail and Postal Museum exhibitions. You will learn about the engineers who worked on the line keeping it running 22 hours a day and see the original trains that powered mail underneath London for over 80 years. You can explore the surprising history of the post, one of the greatest of British inventions, from cryptic Victorian Valentine cards to a lion encountered on Salisbury Plain. You will then descend for a 20 minute journey back in time on a specially made train through the original tunnels and station platforms under Mount Pleasant. After what promises to be an exhilarating experience, we will walk to Exmouth Market, for a two course lunch with wine at Santore, a classic Italian restaurant. Directions to the Museum are below.

The cost for the museum visit is £22 for members and £24 for non-members, and for lunch £25 to include VAT and service.

Please complete the attached booking form and return it to Christine Broomhead no later than 9 November.
