Quiz Night – 17 January 2018
To brighten the dreary days after the festive season, the first event of the New Year will be a brain teasing quiz, written and run by the inimitable Chris Holehouse, who is always right even if he is wrong. This will be held on 17 January starting at 6pm in the upstairs function room of Ye Olde Watling Pub, which is on the corner of Watling Street and Bow Lane and is a short stroll from Mansion House tube and Cannon Street stations. It is famous for being Sir Christopher Wren’s drawing office during the building of St Paul’s and so perhaps it may also provide us with inspiration to answer Chris’s questions.
You can either organise your own team, in which case it should be a maximum of six people, or else if you prefer the Hon. Sec. and myself will match you up with other quiz goers. As always prizes will be awarded with champagne for the winning team and a little something to console the team at the bottom of the leader board.
A range of bar snacks will be provided to feed the little grey cells and once again it seems we need to provide an early response for the catering so I should be grateful if you would return your completed booking form, with any dietary requirements and payment to me no later than Monday 8 January. There will be a separate pay bar.
The cost of the evening will be a £12 for members and £14 for guests.
